STARR FARM BEACH Burlington, Vermont

Description: Starr Farm Beach has essentially laid dormant and overgrown with weeds for years. There is a small area of the beach, off the bike path and at the bottom of the stairs that a few locals use. In the summer of 2003, 3 of us cleaned and raked an unused section further up the beach. By experiment with nudism and Burlington's lack of anti-nudity laws, we found we had support from local people walking through our newly cleaned beach and they had no objections and we experienced no problems from anyone. We feel that this beach has potential to become either offically nudist or clothing optional. We intend to make full use of the beach in summer 2004. Come join us!

Directions: Drive north on North Avenue (past Hannaford, past Merola's Market and past Plattsburg Avenue) to Starr Farm Road on the left before and along side of the Flynn Elementary School. Take a left on Starr Farm Road. Drive 1/2 mile. Pull into to parking area(s) on right (across from Pleasant Avenue) Walk bike path north to the stairs to the beach. Go down the stairs and walk north on the beach a very short distance past the overhanging trees (and over some large rocks which are easy to negotiate). Our large beach area is just past these trees. It is the only spot on the beach that is raked and clean.

Can't find this particular area! Anyone who knows, could you elaborate? Haven't felt comfortable anywhere along Starr Farm beach, there's either families near the beginning or campers up around the watergrassy area.
